Skilling programme for Shiksha@EcDEESHA

Date of Publish: November 1, 2019

Education, alone, is not sufficient to survive in this technically ever changing world. Skilling of students at a young age is also crucial to equip them with the requisite skill set to ensure livelihood when they become adults. Skilling becomes even more crucial for underserved students who need to start contributing to the family's financial income as soon as they reach a desired age.

It is with this objective in mind that EcDEESHA launched the skilling programme for its education arm, 'Shiksha@EcDEESHA'. With this programme, EcDEESHA intends to invite student volunteers from nearby universities who can contribute to the noble cause of skilling young, underserved children. Currently, we have a tie up with the Department of Food Sciences at Sardar Patel University where young graduates teach young girls about importance of nutrition and good food habits via entertaining mediums such as short skits and plays. We also have various other free-lance volunteers who teach basic computer and windows skills to young students of Municipal school in Anand.

We hope to expand this programme and garner more volunteer support to sustain this programme.
